At Dr. Hopkin’s eye care Practice in Lancaster, OH, we offer ocular surgery co-management. Our eye doctors know how to examine your eyes and assess your needs to figure out whether you are a good candidate and if it is in your best interest for you to have eye surgery, like PRK, LASIK, cataract surgery, or other kinds. Then, to determine suitability for refractive surgery, if you meet criteria, a more detailed evaluation will be conducted to rule out contraindications for the treatment. We will review your eye health record including refractive stability and current refractive errors; test for eye dominance, medically asses the cornea; and, discuss various surgical options with their pros and cons, including what to expect.
Generally, vision enhancing eye surgery today is safe and effective.
At that point, we would be happy to refer to you a top quality surgeon who is an expert in the type of surgery which is ideal for you. There will be a consult with the surgeon and the surgery itself.
You can come back to our Practice for follow-up treatment, as those multiple visits during the recovery period are also included in the services offered at the Lancaster, OH vision care facility. Sometimes, after surgery, patients need new glasses, sunglasses, reading glasses, or an enhancement laser procedure. Our optometrist will assess you in these areas as part of that post-operative service after eye surgery.
